RKD at 30: A Legacy of Reliability in Digital

If the last three decades have proven anything, it’s that digital never stands still, and neither has RKD. Since 1996, we’ve navigated an industry defined by constant change, continuously evolving our craft, our capabilities, and the solutions we deliver.

We’ve seen technologies emerge, fade, and re-emerge in new forms. Standards have shifted, expectations have risen, and the role of digital has expanded from simple web presence to critical business infrastructure. Through every stage, RKD has grown alongside our clients, staying focused on the same core principles: thoughtful design, reliable development, and solutions that make the organizations we serve stronger.

1996–2004: Foundations & First Growth

RKD began in 1996 under the name “RKD Internet” before becoming RKD Web Studios; a change that reflected our early commitment to building websites with purpose rather than simply “being online.” From our first office inside SEMEX, we developed websites at a time when digital standards were still forming, learning to solve challenges that had no playbook.

The early 2000s brought our first major expansion in team and technical expertise, and saw the arrival of long-standing leaders and developers who helped set the standard for our culture of quality and continuity.

2005–2017: Scaling Expertise & Expanding Impact

As the web matured, so did the work. Websites became more sophisticated, mobile transformed user expectations, analytics reshaped decision-making, and digital solutions became deeply operational. During this period, we supported increasingly complex platforms, moved into larger offices, strengthened our presence in agriculture and industrial sectors, and added new specializations to support clients end-to-end.

In 2009, ZeroIn was founded as a complementary arm of the business focused on digital advertising — extending our ecosystem to help clients reach audiences more effectively while we continued to build the platforms behind their campaigns.

2018-2025: Modern Architectures, Data Governance & Emerging Intelligence

Recent years have brought significant shifts in privacy, security, automation, and AI. From GDPR and consent frameworks to headless builds, systems integration, and generative tools, this era has been defined by rapid technical acceleration.

RKD has continued to evolve accordingly: adopting new workflows, refining our technical standards, integrating data-driven solutions, and expanding our expertise in complex web environments. Throughout, we’ve remained grounded in the approach that has carried us from day one — building with integrity, listening closely to our clients, and focusing on results.
